Students at the Community School of the Arts come from all walks of life—from 4-year old beginners in the Suzuki program to retired professionals reigniting a love of performing or visual arts, and everyone in between. No matter what their background or experience level, CSA students share two common virtues: a passion for the arts and a love of learning.
For younger students it is our mission to help instill and promote creativity, lateral thinking, and that passion for art and music that will help them to become future leaders—not just in the arts, but in science, business, and technology.
In the college and conservatory prep program young students with a desire to pursue a career in music or art are provided with the highest level of preparation possible. In music this means private lessons, introductory-through-advanced courses in musicianship and theory, chamber music, and large-ensemble experiences. In the visual arts we offer a progressive curriculum in drawing, painting and ceramics and assistance to students preparing portfolios for college applications.
Continuing and adult students at CSA can study with talented faculty on most any instrument or voice type. Many adults come to explore their creative side in one of our visual arts courses or workshops.
